Who are the midwives in this practice?
Claire Rogers joined Midwives of Georgian Bay in January 2016. She graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at Ryerson in 2013, and worked at a busy practice in North York, attending home and hospital births with privileges at North York General Hospital. Claire enjoys working with the clients and families of Parry Sound and the surrounding area and contributing to the work of sustaining maternity care in rural and remote communities.
Jessica Kraitberg joined Midwives of Georgian Bay in spring of 2020. After graduating from the Midwifery Education Program at Ryerson University in 2010 she worked at a busy downtown Toronto practice which specialized in working with the Urban Indigenous population. From there she worked in a semi-rural midwifery practice on Vancouver Island, BC. Following her year in BC she returned to practice in southern Ontario. Jessica is thrilled to be working in Parry Sound and the surrounding area.
Jen McVittie joined Midwives of Georgian Bay in winter of 2021. She graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University in 2016 and worked in a semi-rural practice in southeastern Ontario. Jen is excited to work in Parry Sound and the surrounding area and brings a passion for nurturing accessible health care for people in their own communities.
Kathleen Babe joined Midwives of Georgian Bay in May of 2021. Kathleen graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at Ryerson University in 2010 and has worked in Toronto at Seventh Generation Midwives since 2011. Kathleen has recently practiced in Salluit and Puvirnituq in Northern Quebec. Kathleen is an experienced midwife and clinical preceptor.
All midwives attend births at home and hospital. The hospitals where we work are West Parry Sound Health Centre and Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
